Kuntjanu Tjamus

KERRI-ANNE Edwards is from the Kaltjiti – Fregon Community in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands of North West South Australia. Her mother is Perkie Edwards and Perkie’s father was Billie Smith.

Kunytjanu is a waterhole and Aboriginal community serviced by Pipalyatjara to the north with the area around it associated with several dreamings. The waterhole itself is associated with the dreaming of the water snake and this painting shows the land of her community with all the dreamings intact.
