Bianca Turner is an Eastern Arrente woman, native to the lands east of Alice Springs.
Her skin name of Ampetyane is often Anglicised to Ampeljane. For us, we’ll take the real one thanks.
Here is what Bianca has written on the back of her painting:
"Women are going around looking for water but they find all the water holes are dry so they keep walking along the dry river bed to all the other water holes they know. Then they finally find some water and drink it. They also take some back to the camp. The dots on this painting are dry flowers and some rocks lying around."
