Ngapa (Water) Dreaming

CONNECTION to nature and spirit — Songlines — is what propels this work. It’s about the seeds carried across country by the winds, birds and rain spreading growth in a continuing cycle of life that connects the stories of Seed and Water Dreaming, the two stories that Marshall Robertson’s work features.

The management of water, cultivation of crops and the husbandry required to nurture wild seeds are part of the knowledge passed from father to son and mother to daughter over thousands of years and successive generations. The beginning of life’s cycle, nurtured by water, is an important story in the Jangala Family Dreaming.
