River Bed

AFTER the rain, possibly a couple of months, says Patricia, the dirt in country gets hard and makes itself into different shapes.

The river bed provides a good source of ochre when it has dried and it is from here that the people of the area gather it for their art and for the creation of vessels.

Curiously when the river bed dries like this, they often find white leaves lying around bleached by the fierce sun.
