A TRADITIONAL food for Aborigine people, long before the arrival of Europeans popularised it in Australia, Damper is a very simple bread made by crushing and grinding native seeds, like Spinifex or Wattle, with millstones into a flour. It’s then combined with water to make a dough, rolled flat and then baked over the hot wood coals of a campfire.
