TANYA Nangala Price was born in 1972 in the Utopia region of the Northern Territory, approximately 300km north-east of Alice Springs.
A home to many well-established artists, Tanya's large family is arguably the most famous painting family in the region and includes artists such as Minnie Pwerle and Gloria Petyarre. Tanya learned to paint by watching her Aunt, Gracie Morton Pwerle, an artist renowned for her fine dot work.
You could say the same for Wild Bush Honey Dreaming with it's heavily refined characteristics, and it's stylised map of the honey comb with a steel coloured exterior. Wild bush honey is a precious food in country and here Tanya has celebrated it with unusual style, panache and a vision that is seen in only the best work.
